Camp out at the Devil’s Hopyard State Park

Most state parks are open all year round and we dare say that any time is a good time to make a trip to a state park for some outdoor fun – be it hiking, jogging, walking, cycling, camping, picnicking and yes, even fishing! One of such a state park to go by renting one of our tour buses is the Devil’s Hopyard State Park located on 366 Hopyard Road, East Haddam, CT 06423.

If you are looking for a park for some outdoor activities especially fishing, why not rent a CT charter bus and head over to the Devil’s Hopyard State Park to have some peace and quiet time of catching some fishes by the stream? Not only will you be able to enjoy the surrounding nature, you may also be able to enjoy eating your catch too – if you don’t throw them back into the river after you have caught them, that is!

There are quite a few versions of stories of how Devil’s Hopyard State Park got its name and we are sure that as our CT rental tour bus driver sends you and your friends there, he may very well have his own version too. One of the versions that we have heard of is that there was once a farmer who went by the name Dibble and he had a garden growing hops used in the brewing of beer and somehow, over the years, Dibble’s Hopyard changed into Devil’s Hopyard. Upon investigations, there are records of some farmers who have hopyards in that area, but no record of anyone who owns a farm that goes by the name Dibble – interesting, isn’t it?

This year, Devil’s Hopyard Campground is open from April 19 right up to September 2 and they have about twenty one campsites in wooded settings – a great place for campers, especially the youths. But prior arrangements have to be made with the management and they have restrictions to the use of the campground too.

Generally, CT rental tour bus visitors to the Devil’s Hopyard State Park go there to cycle, hike, bird watch, for picnics, stream fishing and camping. But these are just some of the common activities at any park – if you enjoy painting, you can bring along your painting stuffs and paint away on the canvas as you immerse yourself with nature, who knows – you may just get inspired to paint the next big seller! Whatever it is that you choose to do at the park, we are sure that you will benefit much out of this trip – being surrounded by nature is definitely one way to de-stress! On top of that, you don’t even have to worry or stress about driving home after the trip – you will have the CT rental tour bus waiting to bring you home.
